Caring for Cut Trees

Christmas trees are perishable, after you have bought your tree it should be kept outside in a cool shaded place, preferably standing in water, until it is required indoors. Place your tree in one of our special tree stands which provide watering space and can be used year after year. Or, you can place your tree with its log base on in a big bucket of water. Keep the container topped up with water every day. Trees can drink up to 10 litres over the first couple of days. Keep the tree away from direct heat including any underfloor heating

Care of Pot Grown Trees

These are trees that have been grown from seedlings inside a specially designed pot to give it the best chance of growing on in your garden after Christmas.

Keep your tree well-watered, you will be surprised how much it needs.

After Christmas dig a hole slightly bigger than the pot

If you wish to dig the tree up and bring it in next Christmas, leave it in the pot, the small holes allow the roots out, or carefully remove for a permanent plant.

Backfill the hole with soil and water generously.
