Is lockdown 3 hitting you hard? Are you bored at home and looking for a project? Does your garden need a good makeover but you don’t want to break the bank? Well you’ve come to the right place!
There’s no time like the present to give your garden the TLC it deserves and we are here to help. There’s so many budget friendly ways that you can turn your garden from the thorn in your side to your pride and joy. There are plenty of ideas that can be achieved on a budget, which make a massive difference to the appearance of your outdoor space.
Try recycling and reusing old household objects, adding your own creative flair to a plain surface or find that perfect feature to bring the whole space together. Here’s some ideas that we absolutely loved.
1.Transform a plain wall into your very own work of art
If you have an open surface in your garden, why not turn it from dull and boring to eye catching and make it a key feature of your outdoor space. Channel your inner Banksy and turn it into your 2021 project, or let your kids go wild. If you aren’t happy, paint over it in white and start again!
2.Turn your old chest of drawers into a unique planter
If you have an old, unused chest of drawers clogging up space, give it a new lease of life by turning it into a unique colourful garden planter! Well-balanced and multiple staggered tiers of plants, the perfect way to bring a unique look to your outdoor space.
3.Outdoor lighting for ambience
Adding lighting to your garden is the perfect way to add some ambience. Fairy lights are perfect for this, string them around the garden to light up the whole area, or use some old jars to create a more concentrated glow. Top tip- find some solar powered fairy lights, they are powered all day in the sun but will last you all night long.
4.Turn your shed into a summer house
Is your shed doing nothing but collecting dust and housing a bike you haven’t used in years, why not turn it into your very own summer house. A quiet space out of the way. Maybe to get away from the kids or get the kids away from you! Something as simple as a lick of paint and some old furniture can completely transform this space.
5.Reuse crates and pallets
Got any old crates and pallets lying around, why not recycle them as bespoke storage or even turn them into unique planters. Upturned crates can be stacked to fashion shelving for displaying plants or simply storing tools and accessories. All you need is a bit of paint and a few sturdy nails. Fill a pallet with lining, soil and bedding plants and you can easily create a one of a kind planter. If you want to get even more creative, why not dismantle the pallet and turn it into a rectangular planter. Save yourself a few quid and reuse the wood you already have!
